Donald E. Fox

MARTINSVILLE

Donald E. Fox, age 72 passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and son, on Friday afternoon, July 7, 2023 at the Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He resided in Painted Hills within Martinsville, IN.

Don was born August 29, 1950 in Franklin to his parents, the late Junior D. and Marie (Jackson) Fox. In 1970, he graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis and joined the Indiana National Guard. In 1985, he became a soldier with the United States Army and proudly served his country as a Sergeant First Class until his retirement in 2004. While serving, he was part of the 38th Infantry Division Artillery and held many positions such as a supply specialist and chemical operations specialist for the nuclear bio team. Don also obtained his Associate Degree in Business in 1996 from Vincennes during his military service.

Don married his best friend and the love of his life, LaDonna Hamilton on January 9, 1970 in Indianapolis, who he leaves behind after 53 devoted years of marriage.

After his career in the military, Don became a licensed realtor and appraiser, working for several real estate companies before becoming the owner and operator of Don Fox’s Realty LLC. He enjoyed traveling, vacationing in Texas during the winter months and spending time in the outdoors piddling in the yard. Don also enjoyed spending time with his family, meeting new friends, reading The Bible and attending church. He will be remembered most for his love of his grandchildren, desire to help those in need, and his unyielding faith in God.

He will be missed by his wife, LaDonna of Martinsville; son, Thomas (Melanie) Fox of Point Pleasant, New Jersey; grandchildren, Bryce, Hudsyn, Juliet and Henry Fox; and siblings, Patricia (Leo) Cook of Florida and Larry (Margaret) Fox of Brown County, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 22nd at Mt. Zion Church in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Zion Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army and the local honor guard. Services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.
