BURN THE CORK, 6-10 p.m. July 14, Mallow Run Winery, 6964 W. Whiteland Road, Bargersville

When families and children are in crisis following a fire, the Johnson County Professional Firefighters steps forward to help. Local residents can support that mission during the annual Burn the Cork, a fundraiser supporting the group as well as the Hoosier Burn Camp.

Enjoy music by Poison Overdose and Motley Crucial, while taking part in a bourbon grab, cash raffle and silent auction. A kids zone, food trucks and family-friendly activities will also be featured. General admission tickets are $25 — free for kids 12 and under.

JOHNSON COUNTY FAIR PARADE, 1-2 p.m. July 15, downtown Franklin

For much of the Johnson County, the annual county fair is the biggest event of the summer. Kick it off in joyous fashion with the fair parade, featuring floats, tractors, music and more as it winds through downtown Franklin.

The parade starts at Franklin Community Middle School before traveling east on Banta Street, south on Walnut Street and east on Jefferson Street. After passing the county courthouse, the parade will turn south on Home Avenue and end at South Street.
