Franklin College, UIndy plan preview events

Indiana’s 29 private colleges are offering special visits to students and their families as part of Indiana Private College Week, which starts Monday.

Franklin College and the University of Indianapolis are among those that are offering special tours that week. Prospective students and their families interested in the college selection process can experience the unique personalities of each campus through tours, informational sessions, and conversations with current students and staff, according to Independent Colleges of Indiana, an organization representing Indiana’s private higher education institutions.

Indiana’s private colleges welcome visitors throughout the year, but this concentrated week offers students the opportunity to visit as many campuses as they would like without missing school, according to ICI.

Franklin College is offering information sessions, tours led by student ambassadors, and the opportunity to meet with admissions counselors. This will be available Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 am., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. For more information contact the college at 317-738-8075 on [email protected].

At UIndy, two events are set up for prospective students.

21st Century Scholars can attend a special open house Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon. Scholars can learn more about UIndy, the admissions process, and how their scholarship aid is applied. They will also have a chance to speak with UIndy’s 21st Century Scholar specialist, current students, tour campus, and have lunch.

All high school-age students can visit campus on UIndy Preview Day, which is set for Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will include an admission information session, an activity with the Professional Edge Career Development Office, a tour of our campus and an optional lunch.

A complete list of participating campuses, event schedules, and registration information is available at icindiana.org/pcw.

Visitors between the ages of 16 and 20 touring ICI campuses during Private College Week will also have the chance to enter a drawing for an Apple iPad. Entry forms and rules will be available from each campus, according to ICI.
