Franklin’s Clark signs with Tigers
Max Clark, drafted third overall by Detroit in the Major League Baseball draft last week, officially became a member of the Tigers organization on Monday when he signed his contract with the organization. Clark will receive a $7.7 million signing bonus, according to Jim Callis of MLB.com — an amount that lines up with the slot value for the No. 4 pick and the figure that the Franklin graduate had given the Daily Journal back on draft day.
A three-time county player of the year, Clark is expected to report to the Tigers’ complex in Lakeland, Florida to begin playing for their rookie-league team in the Florida Complex League.
