Families in need of school supplies will be able to pick up backpacks full of them on July 30 at TCC stores in Franklin and Greenwood.
The giveaway of one backpack per child present will take start at 1 p.m. and continue while supplies last, according to a news release from TCC, Round Room and Wireless Zone, all Verizon authorized retailers.
Across the country, more than 1,000 Verizon-affiliated stores will be giving away about 120,000 backpacks. Those stores include two in Greenwood, one in Franklin and one just north of County Line Road in Indianapolis. Over the decade the annual backpack giveaway has occurred, the program has given away more than 1.3 million backpacks, according to the release.
Supplies include pencils, paper, a pencil box, folders, a ruler and glue. Each child will receive one backpack as supplies last, the release says.
In Franklin, families can go to the TCC store at 2199 N. Morton St. Greenwood families can visit stores at 81 N. State Road 135 and 120 W. Smith Valley Road, or to 8860 S. Emerson Ave, Indianapolis.
