Aspire to host internship workshop for local businesses

Local employers can learn more about offering internships with an educational workshop.

Aspire Johnson County is offering its first “Creating Your Internship Experience in 6 Steps” workshop on Aug. 9 in efforts to teach local businesses how to create internships. The workshop will be at no cost to employers and aims to teach how to create internship programs that fit employers of various sizes and at different levels of need, according to a news release.

Aspire officials say they’ve learned most Johnson County businesses are eager to host students but are unsure how to get internship programs up and running — a problem this workshop could fix.

Internship experts Devina Fernandez of Endress + Hauser and Anna Larson of The Garrett Companies will be the guest speakers for the workshop.

The workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Endress + Hauser Customer Center’s Slope Auditorium, 2350 Endress Place, Greenwood. To sign up for the experience, go to visit aspirejohnsoncounty.com/events.
