Trojans post runner-up finish
No. 2 Center Grove lived up to its preseason ranking, finishing a close second behind No. 1 Carmel in the Bloomington Invitational at Bloomington Country Club on Monday. The Trojans finished with a team total of 308, five shots behind the Greyhounds and 10 ahead of third-place Noblesville. Lexi Stuart topped Center Grove with a 73, tied for third individually, while Camille Short and Rowen Pfeifle each shot 78 and Magnolia Miller added a 79.
Lexi Ray matched Stuart’s 73 to lead Franklin, which was fourth in the field at 323, while Addi Bright and Addie Livorno shot 82 apiece and Reese Phillips carded an 86.
In dual action at Dye’s Walk, Center Grove’s White team earned a 163-225 victory over Greenwood. London Dodson and Maren Pfeifle were co-medalists at 37 for the Trojans, while Madisyn Bell finished at 44 and Zoey Land shot 45.
Braves victorious in opener
Indian Creek defeated Beech Grove in its season-opening match Monday against Beech Grove, posting a team score of 254. Shelby Roach was the medalist with a round of 55 for the Braves.
