Letter to the editor: Job training bigger issue than birth rate

To the Editor:

In reference to not being able to fill jobs because of our lower birth rate, I can’t help but think that we won’t have people qualified to fill jobs because they are not properly educated or trained. Most of our schools are putting out young people not as well prepared as their peers of past decades. I would like to add that the problem is not only the schools but so many children do not have parents or a parent at home making sure that they are keeping up their grades and doing their homework or studies. I am afraid our future looks beak. In our past history, many immigrants made great contributions to our country but they came into America under control, usually sponsored, they didn’t just flow across our borders.

God bless America.
