Judith Gail Gentry

SALEM, OREGON

Judith Gail Gentry, 77, of Salem, Oregon, formerly of Edinburgh, Franklin, and Salem, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of July 21, 2023, with husband Dave by her side. She was born July 9, 1946 in Franklin, Indiana. She was the daughter of Lloyd F. H. Bozell and Willetta June (Rhude) Andrews. She is survived by her husband, David LeRoy Gentry, sons, John (Jo) Young of Brownsburg, Indiana, David L. Young of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Aaron (Karen) Young of Franklin, Indiana, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother, Ronnie Sanderson of Fort Worth, Texas, and sisters, Bonnie (Timothy) Coble of Franklin, Indiana and Sharon Lipscomb of Taylorsville, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her former husbands, Ronald Rippy and Rodney Young.

Judy grew up in Edinburgh, Indiana and graduated from Edinburgh High School in 1964. She developed a deep love for her fellow classmates and enjoyed seeing them at their regular school reunions and Alumni banquets.

Judy worked for Amos Hill Plastics of Edinburgh, Johnson Memorial Hospital Emergency Department, Dr. John Nahre Family Practice, and Planned Parenthood. She worked and served in Healthcare most of her life.

She loved being with her family, friends, and her church family at Enon Baptist Church, Salem Indiana. Throughout her life, she enjoyed the Bluegrass Festivals with her friends, gospel music, managing an eBay business, participated in the women’s Bowling League in Franklin, read her books by her favorite lake in Salem, Indiana, passionate about flea marketing, on-line gaming, swimming, growing flowers, going to the movies, zooming with her sons every Sunday evening, and celebrating life milestones with her Birthday Girls! She loved and enjoyed her pet cats through the years and especially her Pitbull, “Juda” back in Oregon.

She was a member of the Enon Baptist Church in Salem, Indiana, Johnson County Businesswomen Association, EMS Association, American Civil Defense, Red Cross, and several small groups where she met and made many friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted by Pastor Neil Kenyon at 5:30 PM on Sunday, August, 13, 2023 at Edinburgh Park and Recreation Center, 722 S. Eisenhower, Edinburgh, Indiana. Visitation will begin at 4:30 PM until time of service. A private family burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
