MILITARY AND VETERANS APPRECIATION EVENT, Aug. 15 at 11 a.m. Ashwood in Greenwood (Dorrell Court off of Demaree Road) will be hosting a military and veterans appreciation event with the unveiling of a bronze plaque and memorial stone giving thanks to all our veterans. The event will feature a color guard and special patriotic music. All veterans are welcome to attend.

MOTORCYCLE RIDE, Aug. 19 at noon. Motorcycle ride to support The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center. Motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to the “Stands Up for Recovery” ride. Organized by Renegade Recovery, the ride begins and ends at The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center at 2400 N. Tibbs Ave. in Indianapolis. Proceeds from the event will fund need-based scholarships for those seeking addiction treatment at the Harbor Light Center. Riders and non-riders are invited to enjoy live music, games, and shopping from a variety of vendors that will be on site. Riders will enjoy a two-hour trip exploring west central Indiana.

TEN MILE GARAGE SALE, Aug. 25-26 beginning at 8 a.m. rain or shine, 7478 W. County Road 600 S., Edinburgh. The garage sale, celebrating its 18th year, will be held in conjunction with the Marietta Fish Fry. The fish fry begins Friday evening and continues all day Saturday. LOCAL VETERANS ORGANIZATIONS are looking for volunteer drivers who can take local veterans to and from their medical appointments. Johnson County Veterans Transportation Network and Roudebush VA are recruiting.
