Center Grove tops No. 1 Brebeuf

Goals from Nikos Whitney and Ely Detty lifted Class 3A No. 16 Center Grove to a 2-1 triumph at Brebeuf Jesuit, the top-ranked team in Class 2A, on Tuesday night. The Trojans (2-0) got assists from Cooper Worley and Keaton Barnhizer in the win.

Warriors come up short

Whiteland opened its season with a 3-1 home loss to Speedway. Jackson Crawford tallied the lone goal for the Warriors.

Girls golf

Trojans roll past Royals

No. 3 Center Grove had little trouble with Roncalli at Hickory Stick on Tuesday, winning by a 146-220 margin. Camille Short and Rowen Pfeifle both finished at 36 for the Trojans, while Lexi Stuart and Magnolia Miller each shot 37.

Warriors defeat Dragons

Whiteland posted a 4-1 win over New Palestine on Tuesday. Spencer Gillespie and Carson Baumann were victorious in the top two singles spots for the Warriors (1-1), Chase Koester and Kai Koester won at No. 1 doubles and the pairing of Gavin Stubbe and Isaac Phegley earned a points at No. 2 doubles.

Center Grove wins at Avon

Class 4A Center Grove won on the road for the second time in as many nights, posting a 25-18, 27-25, 27-29, 25-18 victory at Avon on Tuesday evening.

Lancers edged in five sets

Edinburgh dropped a 14-25, 25-21, 18-25, 25-18, 15-11 marathon against Jac-Cen-Del. Zoey Sida had 18 kills in defeat for the Lancers, while MacKenzie Bieker added 11 kills and 17 digs, Kyah Streeval had 46 assists and Kenna Streeval pulled up 29 digs.

Braves sweep Waldron

Indian Creek cruised to a 25-18, 25-23, 25-20 victory over Waldron on Monday night. Faith Wiseman had 11 kills and Adrianna Williams added eight for the Braves (2-0), who also got 32 assists from Jasmine Day.
