Grizzly Cubs rally past Trinity Lutheran

Franklin stormed back from two sets down to earn a 22-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-19, 15-7 triumph at Class A No. 6 Trinity Lutheran on Thursday. Rose Mahin had 10 kills and Veronica Whitaker nine blocks for the Grizzly Cubs, while Kennedy Urban added 27 assists and Kate Pinnick pulled up 26 digs.

Trojans top Quakers in four

Class 4A No. 10 Center Grove polished off a 25-22, 16-25, 25-17, 25-20 win over Plainfield on Thursday. The Trojans improve to 6-1 with the victory.

Clark makes Single-A debut

Franklin graduate Max Clark played in his first game with the Lakeland Flying Tigers, the Detroit Tigers’ Low-A affiliate, on Thursday, going 1 for 4 with a game-tying RBI single in a 3-2 win over the Clearwater Threshers.

Clark, the No. 3 overall selection in the MLB draft in June, batted .283 with two home runs, 13 runs scored and 12 RBIs in 12 games with the Tigers’ Florida Complex League club before being promoted on Wednesday.
