Several neighborhoods in Whiteland are under a boil water advisory due to a water main break Thursday.
Residents who live in Saddlebrook Farms, Spring Hill, Spring Hill South, Oakville and Old Town Whiteland east of U.S. 31 are advised to boil their water until approximately Saturday, a press release from the town says.
Affected residents are advised to use bottled water or boiled water for drinking and to prepare and cook food. If bottled water is not available, bring water to a full rolling boil for one minute. After boiling, allow the water to cool before use.
The advisory went into effect at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. This was caused by a water main break at Whiteland Community High School on Thursday morning. Affected areas in town were without water or experienced low pressure after the break. Crews were on site immediately to repair the break.
