FRANKLIN
Michael Edward Stephens, 65, passed away on August 21, 2023. He was a resident of Franklin.
Mike was born on April 26, 1958 in Franklin, Indiana to Charles Stephens and Dorothy (Parton) Stephens. He married Joyce (Johnson) Stephens. They shared 20+ years of marriage and two children together.
He is survived by his children, Tim Stephens and Alyssa Stephens; grandson, Brody Stephens; siblings, Ricky Stephens, Debra Newton, Donna Schelske, Darlena Coy (Rick); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in passing by his parents, Charles and Dorothy; former wife, Joyce; brothers, Jimmy Stephens and Johnny Stephens; sister-in-law, Nancy Stephens; brother-in-laws, Mike Newton and Ron Schelske.
Mike graduated from Franklin Community High School.
Mike worked for Franklin Power for 20+ years and was currently employed by Caterpillar where he worked as a team lead.
He enjoyed going fishing, hunting, and working on cars and tractors. He loved watching his grandson play football and spending time with his family.
Russell Shank will conduct a celebration of life service on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton Street (U.S. 31) in Franklin. Visitation will be form 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, Indiana.
