MONDAY 11:20 A.M. UPDATE

According to reports to Johnson County 911, the accident on Interstate 65 occurred at around 4:22 a.m. Sunday morning at approximately three miles north of the Franklin exit. The first deputies on scene advised a passenger car was underneath a semi-trailer, heavily damaged and was fully engulfed in flames, according to information released by Indiana State Police.

Firefighters and Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene to extinguish the flames and extricate an adult female from the wreckage. She was pronounced deceased at the scene and there were no other injuries reported, ISP officials said.

Indiana State Police Crash Reconstructionists also responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.

Preliminary investigation determined Destiny Johnson, 23, of Indianapolis, was driving a Chevrolet Malibu southbound on I-65 when for unknown reasons she drove off the right side of the road onto the shoulder and struck the rear end of a parked semi tractor-trailer. Investigators have not determined what caused Johnson to drive onto the shoulder or why the semi was parking on the side of the road, ISP officials said.
