Free business disaster resilency webinar set for Thursday

A free webinar will teach business leaders how to make their businesses more disaster resilient.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Central Indiana Small Business Development Center and the Indiana Chamber Executive Association will co-host a free webinar on resiliency training to help businesses before, during and after disasters at 10 a.m. Thursday. Entrepreneurs in all areas are encouraged to attend to learn about resiliency classes and other assistance from the Small Business Development Center and other federal, state and local agencies, according to a SBA news release.

The Small Business Development Center offers training courses to ensure business owners and stakeholders have the tools necessary to recover from disasters. Discussions will include business continuity planning, disaster preparation and mitigation, the news release says.

Additionally, the webinar will highlight working capital funds from the SBA available in the form of Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs), available in 57 counties in Indiana and surrounding states to businesses that were economically affected by the severe storms, straight-line winds and tornadoes that struck the area from March 31 through April 1. This includes Johnson County, and the deadline to apply for loans is Jan. 15, 2024.

Those interested in attending the webinar are asked to register in advance, as capacity is limited. To register, go to: isbdc.ecenterdirect.com/events/16414
