GREENWOOD
Richard P. Crawshaw, 86, of Greenwood, passed away on September 1, 2023. He was born on June 25, 1937 in Indianapolis, IN.
Dick worked as a pipe fitter for Citizens Gas. He then went on to become business manager for the Local 1400 then International Representative for the IBEW. Dick enjoyed golfing and traveling. He was a member of the Greenwood Masonic Lodge #514.
Dick played for multiple leagues of fast pitch softball, and at the age of 16, was scouted to play for the Dodgers. (Although his mother said he was too young at that time!)
Dick is survived by his children, Mike (Betsy) Crawshaw, Cheryl (Jerry) Applegate, Gary (Michele) Crawshaw, and Kerry (Amanda) Crawshaw; half-sister, Laura (Bryan) Ray; wife, Bonnie Crawshaw; 11 grandkids; and 15 great grandkids.
He was preceded in death by wife, Betty Crawshaw; and great grandson, Waylon Jordan.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens of Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday. September 7, 2023 at 11:30 AM at the funeral home.
Dick will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
