Boys tennis

Warriors shut out Grizzly Cubs

No. 19 Whiteland picked up a 5-0 victory at Franklin on Thursday. The Warriors (8-3) got singles points from Spencer Gillespie, Carson Baumann and Jeremiah Hurt, with Hurt going three sets to outlast the Grizzly Cubs’ Luke Sherry in the No. 3 spot. Chase and Kai Koester won in straight sets at first doubles, with Isaac Phegley and Gavin Stubbe doing the same at No. 2.

Greenwood sweeps Decatur

Greenwood took all five points in straight sets to beat Decatur Central, 5-0. Noah Paswater, Carter Chatham and Ian Ratliff were singles winners for the Woodmen (9-4, 3-1 Mid-State), Will Davidson and Brayden Holman were victorious at No. 1 doubles and Dominic Soubeih and Nick Pruett won at second doubles.

Edinburgh falls to Twisters

Oldenburg Academy sent Edinburgh to a 4-1 defeat. Bailey Totten got the lone point for the Lancers with a win at second singles.

Volleyball

Braves take Lancers in three

Indian Creek notched a 25-17, 25-20, 25-10 sweep of Edinburgh on Thursday. MacKenzie Bieker and Kenna Streeval led the Lancers with six kills apiece in a losing effort, with Streeval adding 18 digs.

Trojans sweep Falcons

Class 4A No. 9 Center Grove finished off a 25-21, 25-18, 25-22 sweep against Perry Meridian.

Boys soccer

Woodmen blank Pioneers

Five different players scored goals in Greenwood’s 5-0 win over Mooresville on Thursday. Emmanuel Jackson, Jose Moreno, Alex Baugh, Za Sang and Landon Holt each found the net for the Woodmen, while Kyrin York posted the shutout at the other end.

Trojans, Fighting Irish deadlock

Class 3A No. 3 Center Grove came away with a 2-2 draw against Cathedral. Ely Detty and Matheus Gubert scored goals for the Trojans (7-0-2), with Keaton Barnhizer contributing an assist.

Girls golf

Warriors defeat Eagles

Kylie McGovern’s career-best 39 led all scorers and helped Whiteland to a 209-226 win over Brown County. Karley Hoagland shot 50 and Emma Gunn 55 for the Warriors.
