Jerry Richard Barnett

GREENWOOD, IN.

Jerry Richard Barnett, 82 and lifelong resident of Greenwood, IN passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born July 24, 1941, in Indianapolis, IN to Arthur George Barnett and Alice L. (Lindley) Barnett. He married Frances R. “Fran” (Crowder) Barnett on May 19, 1963, in Franklin, IN, she survives.

Jerry attended Center Grove Schools and graduated from Franklin Central High School.

He had been a sales associate for Ris Paper Company formerly known as Lesh Paper for thirty-four years. He then later worked for the Bob Rohrman Auto Group for ten years.

Jerry was a past member of Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church at Stones Crossing where he had been involved in committees of the church, a member and avid golfer at Royal Oak Country Club in Greenwood, organized and was past president of the Center Grove Little League, was an avid Colts and Pacers fan.

Survivors include his wife Frances R. “Fran” (Crowder) Barnett of Greenwood, IN, two sons Brett Curtis Barnett of Greenwood, IN and Bruce Allen Barnett (Jonna) of Franklin, IN, six grandchildren Sam Barnett, Jada Barnett, Ian Barnett, Chelsey Bray, Amy Abney (Charles), Zion Barnett, six great grandchildren Sophia Johnson, Ela White, Ava White, Oden Darnell, Prosper Darnell and Lucas Abney and his brother Wayne Charles Barnett (Madeline) of Nineveh, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother Terry Arthur Barnett on February 6, 2022.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be conducted on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 4PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. The family will receive friends from 2PM Saturday until service time at the mortuary.
