COMEDY NIGHT FOR A CAUSE, 7 p.m. Sept. 21, Historic Artcraft Theatre, 57 N. Main St., Franklin

Get ready to laugh while supporting the families of injured police officers and those killed in the line of duty. This live standup comedy showcase is hosted by Chris Cline, a semifinalist for the 2023 Americas Funniest Veteran, and features sets by Ryan May and Jan Tatlock of the Flash Bang Comedy group, as well as co-headliners Hoss Ridgeway (The Mike Huckabee Show and DryBar Comedy) and Ray Hensley (The World Series of Comedy). Ticket proceeds from the event go to the Code One Fund administrated by the Central Indiana Police Foundation. Tickets are $10.

NINEVEH TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY DAY, 2-9 p.m. Sept. 23, Prince’s Lakes Town Hall, 14 E. Lakeview Dr., Nineveh

Bicentennials are sweeping across Johnson County this year, with communities and the county as a whole celebrating 200 years. Nineveh gets into the action with their own festivities. Opening ceremony is at 3 p.m. followed by a pet parade, and food trucks, vendors, games, silent auction and historical displays are part of the celebration. Rose O’Neal, a 2022 “American Idol” Golden Ticket winner, and singer/guitarist Aaron Grubb will perform during the day, and at dusk, enjoy an outdoor showing of “Hoosiers.”
