Robert William Scott

Robert William Scott, age 64, of Trafalgar, IN passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in Indianapolis, IN after a lengthy illness.

He was born May 19, 1959, in Franklin, IN. His paternal grandparents were Ray and Evelyn Scott, and his maternal grandparents Sam and Mona Simon preceded him in death.

He is survived by his father, Dr. William B. Scott of Franklin, IN and his mother Melinda (Simon) Frazier of Morgantown, IN, a sister Shelley Scott Stout (Michael Sr.) of Carmel, IN, his aunts Sue Swing Grant and Clarellen Kelsay (Ronald) all of Franklin, IN, nieces Katie Stout of Carmel, IN, Meghan Friebel (Chris) of Whitestown, IN, great-nephews Bowen and Barrett Friebel of Whitestown, IN, nephew Michale Stout Jr. (Amanda) of Lincoln, Nebraska, great-nieces Indie and Zuri Stout of Lincoln, Nebraska and several cousins.

Robert was a lifetime member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Franklin, IN. He graduated from Franklin Community High School with the class of 1978. He attended DePauw University and graduated from Indiana University in 1983. He was employed with Dairy Queen as the regional director of northern Indiana and served as the troubleshooter for the entire district, retiring in 2014.

While living in Fort Wayne, IN, he restored his two story, turn of the century home and gardens in the mid-century art deco style he loved. He enjoyed gardening and collecting furniture, art and antiques from the art deco period.

Later in life, Robert helped manage his mother’s farm in Brown County.

The Reverend Shan Rutherford will conduct a service on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton) Street in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. Friends may call Monday, October 2, 2023, from 11AM until service time at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
