Trojans roll through regional semi

No. 12 Center Grove advanced into today’s regional final with a 4-1 win over Perry Meridian on Tuesday. Tyler Lane and Jack Dybwad were straight-set winners at first and second singles for the Trojans, who will face Waldron in the title match. Dimitri Kandris and Carson Bush were victorious at No. 1 doubles, while Quinn Smith and Yuvraj Dasari took the point at No. 2.

In the individual doubles sectional, Franklin’s tandem of Brady Tucker and Tyler Jones advanced with a two-set victory. They’ll play Conner Evans and Elias Sego of Triton Central today.

Late goals knock Indian Creek out

Indian Creek was locked in a scoreless draw for the first 65 minutes of its match with Greencastle on Tuesday before taking a 3-0 loss in the first round of the Class 2A Northview Sectional. Junior goalkeeper Nick Jackson kept the Braves (7-6-1) in the match most of the way, finishing the night with 12 saves.

Braves eliminated by Mustangs

Indian Creek’s season came to an end with a 4-0 loss to conference rival Edgewood in the opening round of the Class 2A Monrovia Sectional on Tuesday. The Braves finish the year with a 2-13 record.

Grizzly Cubs sweep Hornets

Franklin celebrated its senior night with a 25-7, 25-7, 25-9 rout of Beech Grove on Tuesday. Three seniors were honored for hitting career milestones — Scarlett Kimbrell (1,000 kills), Kate Pinnick (1,000 digs) and Kennedy Urban (2,000 assists). The Grizzly Cubs improved to 19-8 with the win.

Lancers defeated in four

Edinburgh suffered a 25-17, 25-18, 20-25, 25-10 loss to Hauser. MacKenzie Bieker had 10 kills for the Lancers, while Kenna Streeval and Jessica Walsh led a balanced back-line effort with 28 digs apiece.
