ETHOS CELEBRATION OF THE ARTS, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 7, downtown Franklin

Community artistry knows no bounds during the annual Ethos Celebration of the Arts. A juried art show will feature the best paintings, ceramics, jewelry and other work made by artists from around the region. Community creators will have their own display, touting the best from local artists. People can check out large-scale chalk art on the sidewalks, and peruse items made by the craftiest creators in the area during the Fall Vintage & Handmade Fest. Live entertainment, food vendors and more will also be part of the fun.

Roctoberfest, 6-10 p.m. Oct. 7, The Suds, 350 Market Plaza, Greenwood

Classic cars and cool music meets a great autumn tradition during Roctoberfest. Come out to The Suds, Greenwood’s warm-weather hangout, to hear music from Heartstone Crossing. The band, which has its roots in Greenwood and The Suds, performs a fine-tuned blend of the sounds of the ‘60s and ‘70s. In addition to the regular menu of burgers, hot dogs and shakes, the event will feature special items, including bratwurst, Polish sausage, sauerkraut, German potato salad and apple strudel.
