League of Women Voters, Vote411 offer local candidate guide

Municipal elections are the most direct way to affect change in your community. To make this election more accessible, Leagues of Women Voters of Johnson County and VOTE411.org have teamed up to provide access to information on local candidates and voting.

On Vote411.org, voters can find personalized voting information about candidates and links to voter registration, voter registration status, absentee voting and voting locations.

For the general election, the local LWV also invited all municipal candidates to answer questions about local issues. Of 27 candidates in contested races, 17 responded to the questions. And of the 37 candidates in uncontested races, seven candidates replied. All responses that were submitted can be found on Vote411.org.

Voters can enter their address to see what’s on their ballots and what the candidates have to say about the issues.

Offices on the ballot include mayor, city and town councils, city judge, and clerk-treasurer. Greenwood, Bargersville, Whiteland, Edinburgh and Prince’s Lakes all have contested council races. Voters who live out in the county and not within city or town corporate limits do not have any offices to vote for this election.

Voters can contact [email protected] if they can’t access their Voters Guide.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan civic organization, they do not support or oppose any political parties or candidates.
