Shepherd near Q School cut line
Center Grove graduate Erica Shepherd shot a 2-under-par 70 on Thursday, putting herself in a tie for 41st place at the LPGA and Epson Tour Qualifying Tournament in Venice, Florida. The top 40 players plus ties after Friday’s final round will advance to the LPGA Q-Series, which will take place in Mobile, Alabama beginning Nov. 30.
Tied for 68th after two rounds, Shepherd started on the back nine Thursday and birdied the par-4 14th to make the turn at 1 under. She added birdies on the fourth and sixth holes before closing with a bogey on the ninth to put herself right on the cut line. The Greenwood resident has another back-nine start Friday, teeing off at 12:55 p.m.
