GREENWOOD
Helen Lucille Lucas, age 102, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Greenwood Health and Living.
Helen was born on September 21, 1921, in Richmond, IN to the late Richard W. Lucas and Ruth Lucille Weese Lucas. Helen was a 1939 graduate of Shortridge High School. She worked as a secretary and clerk at General Motors for over 35 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church on the southside of Indianapolis for many years as well as a member of the Millersville Chapter of the Eastern Star and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Mary Bryant Chapter in Indianapolis.
Helen was an accomplished quilter and an avid reader. She most enjoyed reading her Bibles. She read the Bible cover to cover at least three times.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Kathy Lucas; niece, Sue Wiseman; a nephew, Ken Lucas (Barbara); step-nephew Steve Lucas (Janelle); and several great nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 19 @ 3:00 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 8540 US 31 South, Indianapolis.
A private graveside inurnment will take place at Washington Park Nort Cemetery.
