BARGERSVILLE

Mathias Grehn, 50, of Bargersville, passed away on October 27, 2023. He was born on January 13, 1973, in Sollebrunn, Sweden, to his parents Reine and Birgitta Grehn.

Mathias was a beloved figure in the lives of many as a loving husband, father, son, brother, friend, and pastor. His life was a testament to his deep passion for Jesus, his commitment to preaching hope, his love for his family, music, technology, and even his lawn. He had a special affection for his iPhone and embraced technology with enthusiasm. Mathias had a unique and endearing nickname, “the Swedish Latino,” reflecting his love for Latin culture. He shared this passion with others and made lasting connections through it.

Throughout his life, Mathias dedicated himself to the ministry, serving as a pastor in Wisconsin, Florida, and Indiana. He also made a significant impact by planting two churches in the Dominican Republic, spreading the message of faith and hope to those in need. His commitment to hospitality and sharing his culture was evident in his love for cooking Swedish meals for friends and family.

Mathias is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Danielle, their son John, daughters Elisabeth, Anna, and Boglarka (host daughter), and his mother, Birgitta. He is also survived by his brothers: Marcus (with son Josh), Andreas (with wife Sadete and their children Elsa and Leon), and Jacob (with children Ty, Heyvey, Anney, and Greycee).

He was preceded in death by his father, Reine Grehn.
