Here’s what’s going on with I-69 the week of Nov. 6

Two exit ramps for the Smith Valley Road Interstate 69 interchange are expected to open soon.

The exit ramp from northbound State Road 37 to Smith Valley Road is expected to open late this week or early next week. The ramp to northbound State Road 37 will open about a week later, according to an Indiana Department of Transportation project update.

Once the interchange is fully open, the traffic signal at State Road 37 and Fairview Road will be removed, INDOT officials say.

Additionally, northbound State Road 37 will have a single-lane condition from State Road 144 to Olive Branch Road until the end of the year.

Further south into Morgan County, the right lane of northbound State Road 37 will be closed from Stotts Creek to Big Bend Road as work crews stabilize a hillside. This 2-mile single lane restriction began on Monday, and will continue for approximately six months, INDOT officials say.

In Marion County, the Mann Road ramp to eastbound Interstate 465 is now open. INDOT officials say additional work by I-69 Finish Line crews at the Mann and Thompson roads intersection will occur next year.

The intersection of Belmont Avenue and Banta Road is now open as a 4-way stop. Belmont Avenue near L&W Supply is closed, so access to and from L&W Supply is from Epler Avenue, according to INDOT.

Officials also say the southbound U.S. 31/East Street ramp to I-465 westbound will remain closed into 2024.
