Greenwood Park Mall to host Santa, holiday events starting Friday

Santa Claus is coming to town — specifically the Greenwood Park Mall.

The mall will officially open its Santa Photo Experience on Friday, Simon Malls announced in a news release. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 12 to 6 p.m. on Sundays, through Christmas Eve.

Reservations are encouraged and can be made by going to santaholidayphoto.splashthat.com/.

The mall will also host other events with Santa in December:

  • Caring Santa: Families that have children with special needs can enjoy a subdued holiday environment on Dec. 3 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
  • Pet Photos: Bring pets by for a photo with Santa on Dec. 10 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Breakfast with Santa: Families are invited to dine with Santa before getting the chance to tell him what’s at the top of their wish list on Dec. 16 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Kids can also participate in some holiday-themed crafts. Breakfast is provided by Starbucks and Chick-fil-A.
  • WRTV Toy Drive: The Greenwood Park Mall and participating Indianapolis Simon Centers will host a special collection day event featuring WRTV personalities on Dec. 9, from 12 to 4 p.m. Shoppers are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys or monetary donations. Collection bins will be located near the outdoor fountain, by Entrance 3.
  • Creative Grounds Fine Arts Academy: The local arts academy will participate in an Elf Musical Flash Mob, starting around 12 p.m. on Dec. 16.

Other festive happenings at the Greenwood Park Mall include gift-wrapping stations, provided by local charities, every Saturday following Black Friday through Christmas. Stations can be found near the play area, the news release says.

In addition, mall representatives say shoppers out bright and early on Black Friday will be treated to festive carolers throughout the day.

The mall is welcoming additional, limited-time shopping options during the holiday season, according to the news release. Stores include Christmas Treasures, located next to Zales Jewelers; Gemma Natural Stone, next to Tradehome Shoes; Claw Crazy Arcade, next to Macy’s; and Hickory Farms, located next to Journey’s.
