Whiteland rolls past Hornets

Gwen Higdon’s 19 points helped power Whiteland to a 46-21 victory at Beech Grove on Thursday. Sukhman Bains also finished in double digits with 10 points for the Warriors (5-8).

Lancers suffer road defeat

A lopsided third quarter proved too much for Edinburgh to overcome in a 67-26 loss at Jac-Cen-Del on Thursday. Alix Streeval led the Lancers (2-11) with seven points, followed by Mia Dodson with six and Kenna Streeval with five.

Warriors’ Thomas wins Mid-State title

Whiteland’s Leila Thomas pinned all of her opponents to take first place at 170 pounds during the inaugural Mid-State Conference girls championship tournament on Wednesday evening. Kayci Woods and Ramya Flaherty were second and third in their respective divisions for the Warriors, who placed sixth as a team.
