Davis leads Franklin to road win

Micah Davis poured in a school-record 43 points as Franklin earned a 66-53 victory at Bloomington North on Saturday night. The Grizzly Cubs (7-1) jumped out to a 23-9 lead after one quarter and held it the remainder of the night.

Top-ranked Cougars beat Raiders

Class A No. 1 Greenwood Christian picked up a 54-40 home triumph over Shenandoah on Saturday evening. Max Booher and Noah Reed each finished with 18 points for the Cougars (6-1).

Cougars roll to Monday win

Sydney Waldron put up a career-high 31 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Greenwood Christian steamrolled Phalen Academy on Monday, 66-22. Reagan Willis added 10 points, seven rebounds and five steals for the Cougars (4-7), while Kate Reed contributed nine points and nine boards.

Trojans top No. 6 Wildcats

Lilly Bischoff’s 18 points led a balanced attack as Class 4A No. 5 Center Grove defeated sixth-ranked Lawrence North, 65-48, on Saturday afternoon. Audrey Annee added 14 points for the Trojans (12-1), followed by Rachel Wirts with 12, Ava Grant with 10 and Aubrie Booker with nine.

Grizzly Cubs keep rolling

Franklin ran its win streak to seven games with a comfortable 60-32 win over Shelbyville on Saturday. Erica Buening had 18 points to lead the Grizzly Cubs (12-2), while Scarlett Kimbrell contributed 13 points and Lauren Klem had nine.

Braves dominate Cougars

Lauren Foster had 19 points and eight assists as Class 3A No. 4 Indian Creek cruised to an 84-46 win at North Putnam on Saturday evening. Ayla Lollar scored 16 points for the Braves (11-2, 5-0 WIC), while Faith Wiseman collected 11 points and 10 rebounds. Lexi Sichting added 12 points, Olivia Pendleton 10 and Bre Gault and Jasmine Day eight apiece.

Women’s basketball tops Spartans

Playing its first conference road game of the season, Franklin College used a huge second quarter to pull away from Manchester, 78-58, on Saturday. Lauryn Bates had 16 points and eight rebounds for the Grizzlies (6-2, 3-1 HCAC), who also got 12 points from Maddie Barnes and 10 each from Lauren Barker and Payton Seay.

Men’s basketball edged by DePauw

Despite a career-high 22 points from Ryan Bostic, Franklin College saw a late comeback bid fall short in a 78-71 home loss to DePauw on Saturday. Braden Flanagan added 15 points in defeat for the Grizzlies (4-6).
