INDIANAPOLIS
Shirley Jean (Engleman) Lynch of Indianapolis passed away on December 5, 2023. She was born on April 4, 1935 in Michigan City, Indiana.
She moved to Indianapolis and attended Ben Davis High School. She was married to Theodore “Bud” Lynch, and they had a daughter, Cheryl. Both preceded her in death, along with her brother, Ray Engleman, of North Carolina.
She was a proud Phi Beta Kappa key recipient. She held Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Indiana University, and she was an avid life-long learner and reader. During her teaching career she taught English and Latin at Ben Davis High School and Southport High School. She was loved by her family members, friends, colleagues, and former students.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 6:00 pm at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, or Arthritis Foundation
