Larry W. Estes

Larry W. Estes, 74 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away on December 23, 2023 at Brown County Health and Living Community in Nashville, Indiana. He was born May 2, 1949 in Horse Cave, Kentucky. He was the son of Norman Estes and Frances L. (Nickels) Estes. He married Jeanie (Goldsmith) Estes on June 1, 1974 and she survives. He is also survived by his son, Brad (Katrina) Estes of Hope, Indiana, daughters, Rebecca (Lance) Cooper of Mooresville, Indiana and Olivia Estes of Edinburgh, Indiana, grandchildren, Alaina Estes, Isaiah Estes, Willow Estes, Noah Estes, Samuel Estes, Liam Estes, Ella Estes, Clayton Cooper, Katelyn Cooper, and Kyleigh Cooper, great-granddaugher, Kali Smith, brothers, Gary (Renae) Estes of Edinburgh, Indiana, Jimmy Estes of Kentucky, Allen (Jenny) Estes of Columbus, Indiana, and Bryan (Grace) Estes of Franklin, Indiana, sister, Donna Adams of Edinburgh, Indiana, step-brothers, Larry N. (Pam) Estes of Columbus, Indiana and Mike Estes of Columbus, Indiana, and step-sisters, Norma Estes of Columbus, Indiana and Glenda Estes of Columbus, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Larry was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church and the Edinburgh American Legion Post 233. He retired from Lear Corporation in 2008 after 43 years of service.

He enjoyed working on cars, panning for gold, hunting, fishing, gardening, and archery which included making long bows and arrows. He also enjoyed playing with the Gospel group, Larry Bryant and the Gospel Lights.

A funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Tim Goldsmith at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
