INDIANAPOLIS
C. Bruce Haddix, 67, passed away November 5, 2019. The son of Chester and Eranell Smyth Haddix, he is survived by brothers David (Donna), Michael (Michelle), and Timothy (Donna), and sister Darlene Haddix Patterson.
Bruce is also survived by his wife, Ann Scharbrough Haddix; two daughters, Katie Beehn (Jeremy) and Emily Glassburn (Evan); and six grandchildren, Jared, Julianna, Elizabeth, Samuel, Leah, and Elena Beehn.
Mr. Haddix served as an elementary school principal in Wayne Township and in Center Grove, and was adjunct professor of education at Franklin College. He also served as church Director of Music for 46 years, most recently at Center United Methodist.
Mr. Haddix was honored with the distinguished alumnus award from Butler University, Indiana Principal of the Year award, the Manual HS Alumnus of the Year, and was named a National Distinguished Principal.
Visitation will be at GH Herrmann funeral home (Madison Avenue) Friday November 15 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and again November 16 from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Funeral will be held Saturday, November 16 at Center United Methodist Church at 11:30 a.m.
