Crews have begun demolishing a troubled Greenwood hotel.
A demolition permit was issued Thursday for the Red Carpet Inn and Fanta Suites ,1117 E. Main St. Ray’s Demolition crews have been working to clean out the hotel over the last few weeks. Amid pouring rain Friday, they were tearing down the hotel’s A-wing.
The hotel is now under the ownership of DNB Realty, which is owned by Ray’s Demolition Owner Donnie Matthews. Once the demolition is done, the property will be put up for sale, Matthews said earlier this month.
