Grizzly Cubs sweep Warriors

Franklin celebrated its senior night by defeating Whiteland, with the boys winning by a 131-46 score and the girls by a 134-52 margin. The Grizzly Cubs, who won all of the relays, got individual wins on the boys side from Franco Chirinos (100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke), Alijah Hall (200 freestyle), David Barnett (200 IM), Lucas Ackermann (50 freestyle), Austin Clark (diving), Aleksandr Ries (100 butterfly) and Jacob Meinczinger (100 backstroke). For the girls, Emily McCrary (50 and 200 free), Naomi Henry (200 IM, 100 breaststroke), Camy Quiggins (diving), Emma Small (100 fly), Autumn Routien (100 free), Chloe Vitatoe (500 free) and Reagan Graves (100 back) were all first-place finishers.

Mason Benefield took first in the boys 500 freestyle for the Warriors.

Girls basketball

Trojans dominate Eagles

Class 4A No. 4 Center Grove scored 31 first-quarter points and cruised from there to a 77-32 home win over Heritage Christian on Thursday. Audrey Annee had 18 points and Ava Grant 16 to lead the Trojans (20-1), who also got 12 points from Rachel Wirts and 11 apiece from Aubrie Booker and Lilly Bischoff.

Franklin routs Seymour

Class 4A No. 7 Franklin had little trouble with visiting Seymour on Thursday, rolling to a 66-36 victory. Erica Buening led the Grizzly Cubs (18-2) with 16 points, followed by Scarlett Kimbrell with 14 and Emma Sappenfield with 13.
