DHL leases more space at Mohr Logistics Park

Whiteland’s Mohr Logistics Park recently signed a new lease with DHL.

The lease provides DHL an additional 130,200 square feet in the industrial park. DHL is a German logistics company that provides international and domestic courier and shipping services.

“We are happy to be working with DHL in such a strong market as Indianapolis,” said Gary Horn, chief development officer at Mohr Capital. “When third-party logistics companies look for facilities, about 60% of sites they look for include strong labor pools nearby. Mohr Logistics Park is situated perfectly in an excellent labor pool, and DHL is a top-of-the-line tenant to take advantage of that.”

The signing marks the fifth major lease at Mohr Logistics Park. This is the second lease they’ve signed with DHL at the park. The company had previously signed a lease for a 543,000-square-foot building, the press release says.

This investment is expected to bring 15-20 full-time employees to this location, Horn said.

This adds to several big investments that DHL and DHL Supply Chain have made in Johnson County in recent years.

DHL announced last year the company would invest $258 million to develop a five-building business park on a 272-acre parcel in Franklin at Paul Hand Boulevard and Graham Road. This complex will be built to suit DHL clients looking for a presence in Central Indiana, company officials said last year.

DHL Supply Chain announced last year the company would invest nearly $120 million in the 980,000-square-foot distribution facility it acquired last year in Whiteland and announced plans to create as many 676 jobs by 2027.

To fill out the two remaining buildings in the park, Mohr would like to continue to attract Fortune 100 companies in the future, according to the release.

“Having a full building, high-credit tenant meets our investment goals for this asset and reaffirms the attractiveness and continued success of Mohr Logistics Park,” Horn said. “We look forward to welcoming additional valued tenants with our park.”

Carmen Young, Whiteland town manager, said DHL has already shown their good partner with previous investments.

It is also good to see Mohr Logistics Park filling up.

“We want to let the residents know that these buildings aren’t just sitting empty,” she said. “We are also getting entities to come into to town to make things more prosperous for the town and county.”
