Gary Alan Akers, 56, Pagosa Springs, CO, formerly of Greenwood, IN passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 13, 2024. Gary was born in Indianapolis, IN on June 2, 1967.Gary is survived by his parents Sandra Angerer and Donald (Glenda) Akers, daughter Amber (Keegan) Bridgeman, stepdaughter Katie (Aaron) Crane, sister Denise (Jody) Weaver, stepsister Shelley (Mark) Hudson, partner of 10 years Marsha Kern and her children, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Buren and Maxine Gentry, John and Maxine Akers, and his brother Jeff Yoakum.Gary was a 1985 graduate of Center Grove High School, Greenwood, IN. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed the mountains and beauty of Pagosa Springs. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Gary dearly loved all of his family and friends in CO and IN.A Celebration of Life for Gary will be held on February 3, 2024 at Hilton Garden Inn South, 5255 Noggle Way, Indianapolis, IN 46237 from 1pm-4pm.
