Gwendolin Lee Allen, 88, of Lakeland, FL, formerly of Franklin, IN, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024.Gwen was born in Pleasant Township of Johnson County, IN on April 17, 1935; a daughter of the late Olin and Bernette (Wulf) Allen. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1953 and started working for Franklin College. Later, she went on to be a private secretary to the director of nursing education at IU Medical School. Using that experience she moved to Lakeland, FL and became secretary to the president of Florida Southern College. Her final job before retiring was in the legal department of the Florida Citrus Commission.She is survived by her cousins: Douglas Fraker, Annette (Jeremy) Walker-Snyder, Mark Walker, Aaron (Alex) Walker, Mike Karner and his sister, Judy.Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 1pm until the time of her funeral service at 2pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, 481 W. Main St. Greenwood, IN 46142.
