WHITELAND
Eugene John Rucker McClure (75) died Sunday, January 21, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital, after a short battle with cancer. He was a resident of Whiteland. He graduated from Washington High School in Indianapolis.
He is survived by his wife, Carole (Walters); daughter, Leann (Mike); sons, John (Crystal) and Josh; grandchildren, Keith, Brittany, Jacob, and Alex; great-grandchildren, Xavier and Kannyn. Gene was born in Indianapolis and was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine, and father, Eugene.
Gene retired from the Navy after 27 years, where he was a cook as part of the Admiral’s staff. Gene loved being out to sea. He was a loving husband and father. Gene was a great cook and loved working in the yard and around the house.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
