Here’s what’s going on with I-69 the week of Jan. 29

Work is continuing on the southside for the Interstate 69 Finish Line Project.

On Interstate 465, the existing bridge structure over Meridian Street has been removed. Demolition work will continue on the bridge over the White River for the next couple of weeks, but this work is not expected to impact traffic. Drivers are asked to slow down and stay focused while driving in and near this construction zone, according to an Indiana Department of Transportation project update.

Drivers should anticipate nightly lane closures on I-465 eastbound and westbound near Mann Road and Lick Creek as crews install overhead sign structures. Single and double-lane closures are scheduled between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, officials say.

This work is weather-dependent and could be delayed due to inclement weather.

Nightly ramp closures are expected for bridge beam placement at U.S. 31/East Street to I-465 westbound from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m Tuesday and Wednesday. This work is also weather-dependent, according to INDOT.

Work crews are also actively repairing potholes within the I-69 Finish Line work zone and may implement intermittent lane closures or traffic stoppages on asphalt portions of I-465. The majority of restrictions are expected overnight between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. but are also possible during the day, officials say.
