Greenwood Christian drew a bye through the first round of the Class A Eminence Sectional. Friday night’s semifinal was about the closest one can come to another.
Sydney Waldron scored 33 points, including the 1,000th of her career, and also collected eight steals as the Cougars pummeled Providence Cristo Rey, 87-6.
GCA (5-17) will face the host Eels, a 64-28 semifinal winner over Tindley, in tonight’s championship game.
Reagan Willis and Faith Kresge added 16 points each for Greenwood Christian, with Willis also grabbing eight rebounds. Izzy Howell contributed nine points and six boards.
