Harriet Rose Henck

GREENWOOD

Harriet Rose Henck, 89, of Greenwood, peacefully passed away February 1, 2024. She was born on November 11, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Harry Jacob and Edna Rose Ammon.

Harriet graduated from Freeport High School in New York, while working at her favorite bakery. After marriage she worked 15 years in the local school cafeteria, serving many students over the years.

Harriet and Tom moved to Indiana for their retirement. They spent many happy years in Greenwood with wonderful and caring neighbors. She was a talented painter, and also enjoyed crocheting. She embroidered many grandchildren’s baby quilts, as well as great grandchildren’s. She spent her days feeding the birds and tending her garden.

She is survived by her children, Suzanne Bachman, James (Jeannine) Henck, Deb Henck, and Kathy Henck; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and sister, Edna Allan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Henck; her sons, Timothy J. Henck and Thomas H. Henck; her brother, Harry Ammon; and son-in-law, Bill Bachman.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 5:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm at G.H. Herrmann Funeral Home at The Gardens of Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Rd 135, Greenwood, IN.

She will be laid to rest at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Sayville, New York.
