Davis, Franklin edge Warriors

Micah Davis scored 40 points to lead a shorthanded Franklin squad to a 62-60 win at Warren Central on Saturday. The victory lifts the Grizzly Cubs to 14-3 on the year.

Trojans steamroll Highlanders

Joey Schmitz scored 23 points to pace four Center Grove players in double figures during a 79-45 rout of Floyd Central on Saturday. Will Spellman contributed 17 points for the Trojans (12-4), followed by Ben Chestnut with 11 and Dylan Meador with 10.

Cougars slip past Chatard

Class A No. 6 Greenwood Christian pulled out a 35-33 home victory over Bishop Chatard on Saturday. Jordan Taulman and Ben Comerford led a balanced offensive effort for the Cougars (12-5) with nine points apiece.

Lancers edged by Wildcats

Edinburgh came up just shy against visiting Franklin County, 52-48, on Saturday. Connor Ramey finished with a game-high 24 points for the Lancers (8-8), while Austin Brockman added eight.

Men’s basketball mauls Beavers

Braden Flanagan scored 24 points and Jack Hendricks added 20 as Franklin College celebrated its senior night with a 91-62 pummeling of Bluffton on Saturday. Malachi Archey added 12 points and Jessie Morgan III had 11 for the Grizzlies (11-10, 9-5 HCAC), who also got nine points and nine rebounds from Lynn King.

Women’s basketball tops Bluffton

Jordan Coon scored 29 points and Franklin College pulled away in the second half for a 79-62 home win over Bluffton on Saturday. The Grizzlies (13-8, 8-6 HCAC) also got 18 points from Taylor Cooney, 12 from Maddie Barnes and 10 from Megan Kain.
