Dowty earns state Gatorade honors
Indian Creek sophomore Libby Dowty has been named Gatorade’s Indiana Girls Cross Country Player of the Year. In October, Dowty won the individual state championship in a finals-record time of 17 minutes, 6.7 seconds at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute. Dowty also was named the Daily Journal’s Runner of the Year for a second consecutive season.

Cougars go cold in home loss
A rough offensive night doomed Class A No. 6 Greenwood Christian to a 40-26 defeat against visiting Bethesda Christian on Thursday. Max Booher led the Cougars (12-6) with 12 points.
