Franklin College delays mural unveiling; lecture still on

Franklin College’s mural unveiling is being rescheduled but the accompanying lecture will go on as scheduled.

Franklin College will host a lecture by Clowes Visiting Artist in Residence Tiffany Black Feb. 26, at 6 p.m. at a new location. This lecture will take place in the Branigin Room of the Napolitan Student Center. Black will share details of the Immersive Term class she taught at the college in January.

During the course, titled “Public and Community Art: Mural Creation,” she guided 23 students, step-by-step, through the stages of creating a community mural. Refreshments will be served following the lecture.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the mural, which was previously scheduled to follow the lecture, has now been delayed. A date for that event will be shared at a later time.
