Center Grove teacher resigns after alleged inappropriate relationship with student

A Center Grove teacher has resigned after allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a high school student.

Center Grove Community Schools recently received a notification from Child Protective Services about the alleged inappropriate relationship between a high school teacher and a high school student, Interim Superintendent Bill Long said in a statement Wednesday night. The same statement was also shared with parents.

The Center Grove Police Department was notified immediately and the teacher was placed on administrative leave and escorted from the building. The teacher in question resigned during the course of the investigation, which remains ongoing, Long said.

CGPD is not able to comment on any ongoing investigations, he said.

The district takes all reports seriously and encourages anyone with any safety concerns to report that information to an administrator, CGPD or through their anonymous Safe Schools reporting system, Long said.
