Aspire hosting Women Leaders Workshop, awards

Aspire Johnson County is hosting a women leaders workshop and awards ceremony next month.

The Women Leaders Workshop will take place from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 8 at Valle Vista Golf & Conference Center, 755 E. Main St., Greenwood. The workshop is designed to support women in business leadership development, and participants can learn from speakers who they share their knowledge, experience, and advice. Participants can also network with other women business leaders to build and develop relationships, according to Aspire.

Featured sessions and speakers are:

  • Modern Day Mentoring: How to Pick Your Personal Executive Committee and Board Members; Speaker: Angie Nuttle, an author, speaker and executive business coach.
  • Strong, Authentic & Focused: Achieving Success by Being the Real You; Speaker: Sarah Robinson, a business owner, coach and author
  • Be Kind to Yourself: The Power of Your Thoughts; Speaker: Tajuana Thewlies, of UAW Training/Rolls-Royce Corporation, and a author, speaker and coach.
  • Financial Wellness: Are You Managing Your Money or Is It Managing You?; Speaker: Brandi Greenleaf-Barnes, a financial advisor with Raymond James & Associates, Inc.
  • Bonus Session: Yoga and re-centering techniques with Marie Storm from Storm Chiropractic.

Two awards will be also be presented at the workshop: the Woman Leader of the Year award and the Champion of Women organizational award. The awards recognize an individual and a company that are leading the way to support and elevate women in leadership, according to Aspire.

Pre-registration for the event ends at 5 p.m Wednesday. Aspire member registration starts at $65, and Women Leaders registration starts at $80.
