Don L. Sprinkle

GREENWOOD, IN.

Don L. Sprinkle, 79, of Greenwood, IN passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Greenfield, IN.

He was born January 3, 1945, in Indianapolis, IN to Addison M. Sprinkle and Gladys E. (Carter) Sprinkle. He married Christi J. (Rowsell) Sprinkle on November 13, 1970, in Indianapolis, IN, she survives.

Don was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, IN.

He had been a sales representative of Midwest Garage Doors in Whiteland, IN and previously had been employed by Overhead Door Company in Indianapolis, IN.

Don was a 50-year member of Englewood Masonic Lodge #715 in Indianapolis, IN, the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and Murat Shrine. He had served as chapter Dad of Bargersville DeMolay. He was a longtime member of Honey Creek Church in Greenwood, IN where he had served as trustee, president of the men’s club, church choir, participating in the annual church Christmas Nativity scene, the Red Bird Missions and the North Dakota Indian Reservation Missions, serving the annual church fall suppers and men’s breakfast and mowing the grass at the church for many years. Don also was a member of Valley Riders Saddle Club having served as president, former member of the Johnson County 4-H Council, former leader of the Hoosier Hotshots 4-H Club, assistant leader of the Johnson County Junior Leaders, volunteering at the Johnson County 4-H and Agricultural Fair, volunteering at the Interchurch Food Pantry of Johnson County, Johnson County Senior Services and KIC-IT in Franklin, IN.

Don was one of the first campers at Bradford Woods for disabled children. He enjoyed being around people and will be remembered for always having a piece of candy to give out to those he met.

Survivors include his wife Christi J. (Rowsell) Sprinkle of Greenwood, IN, two sons Michael E. Sprinkle (Teri Hairston) of Pendleton, IN and David Shane Sprinkle of Greenwood, IN, a grandson Cauy Sprinkle, a brother Larry Sprinkle (Sandra) of Valrico, FL, brother-in-law Ron Foster of Greenwood, IN and a sister-in-law Lois Sprinkle of Wanamaker, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Chance Jacob Gregory, a brother Carter William “Bill” Sprinkle and sister Sue Ann Sprinkle Foster.

Pastor Doug Bohall will conduct a service on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 10:30AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. Friends may call Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 2PM until 6PM at the mortuary where a masonic service will be conducted at 5:45PM.

Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
