Veda Wade, 85, of Nineveh, Indiana, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024.

Veda was born in Greenville, Kentucky. She graduated from the University of Kentucky earning a master’s degree in elementary education. She retired from teaching at Northeast Elementary School in Greenwood, Indiana.

Veda had a strong faith and was a longtime member of Nineveh Christian Church.

She was a compassionate, kindhearted soul who always gave, expecting nothing in return. She enjoyed traveling and going on mission trips, attending church, spending time in the kitchen baking and cooking, and spending quality time with friends and family, especially with her grandchildren. She was a pillar of strength and love for her family. She made her whole family laugh with her silly sayings and filled her home with warmth and kindness. Veda lived a full and meaningful life, and her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts. We will miss her beyond measure and take comfort in knowing she is now at peace surrounded by love and light with our Lord.

Veda is survived by her daughter, Susan Wade Anderson (Paul); grandchildren, Christopher Hakes, Jacob Anderson, Luke Anderson, and Rachel Anderson; brother, John Tyson of Murray, Kentucky; 3 nephews and a niece.

Veda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude F. Wade; daughter, Karyn Hakes; son, Michael Wade.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 1:00pm at Nineveh Christian Church, located at 1261 County Road 775 S, Nineveh, IN 46164, with visitation from 11:00am until the funeral hour. Veda will be laid to rest at Nineveh Christian Church Cemetery in Nineveh.
